Marshall Notaras Harwoods combines more than 60 years experience in the manufacture and supply of quality hardwood timber products from Marshall’s Timbers with 70 years experience of J Notaras & Son’s Grafton timber mill.

Since 1962 Marshall’s Timbers has specialised in the manufacture and sale of hardwood timbers in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, The Hunter Valley, and The Central Coast. Marshall’s Timbers is the largest imported and supplier of quality hardwood products from native sustainable timbers and imported species in Newcastle. Marshall’s Timbers Solid Timber Flooring, and Timber Decking products are trusted for their quality and ability to deliver at quantity for small residential to large commercial projects without delay. Marshall’s Timbers also manufactures to size in their Joinery shop serving retail customers, trade, and large scale commercial developments.

J Notaras & Sons was founded in Grafton in 1952 by two brothers – Lambrinos (Brinos) and Spiro Notaras. The Notaras family continued running their native hardwood timber mill for more than 70 years while building a reputation for delivering quality hardwood timber products and services to local customers.

For 25 years, Marshall’s Timbers was the biggest customer of J Notaras & Sons. In 2023 Marshall’s Timbers acquired the Grafton based timber mill and associated Wood Supply Agreements with Forestry NSW. The new business, Marshall Notaras Hardwoods Pty Ltd continues the legacy combining 60 and 70 years experience in timber manufacture and supply from the Marshall and Notaras families. While the name has changed, the focus on high quality sustainably sourced hardwood timber products from an experienced team remains at Marshall Notaras Hardwoods. The new business continues to operate in the same Grafton location. Director Paul Marshall’s leadership builds on the outstanding service history of the Notaras timber mill team providing employment opportunities and quality timber products in the local area and their supply channels.

Marshall’s Timbers is Newcastle and Lake Macquarie’s local trusted manufacturer and supplier of solid timber hardwood products. The 2023 timber mill acquisition enabled Marshall’s Timbers to continue to be the supplier of choice for both small and large projects. Marshall Notaras Harwoods and Marshall’s Timbers maintain significant stock levels of quality hardwood timber and a supply chain that ensures building project timelines can be met without delay.
